Cindy. Sure, she's my favorite character because I always feel...I don't know, sympathetic towards her...but I honestly think she's the best for Jimmy. The only reason she's cruel is because she's afraid of rejection...(ha, why I sympathize with her). I imagine J/C's relationship turning out to be something more along the lines of their relationship in Stranded, where they were good friends who didn't have to hide things from each other. Sure, they've got a lot to learn, but they're young so of course they tease and argue and pretend to hate each other. In the end, Cindy's stuck by Jimmy's side on all of their adventures, she understands most of his scientific inventions and ideas, and she shares similar passions and goals in life. I'm not saying Betty is stupid--no way!--but I really don't think she's the type of girl to get into our thoroughly comprehend really deep science (she'd be as baffled as me :P ). Also, Jimmy seems to admire Betty mostly for her LOOKS (I mean, he keeps pictures of her everywhere and always talks about her beauty) and that makes it appear to be just a shallow crush. Even Betty gives me the impression that she cares more about Jimmy as a friend. I think she'd be a great friend for Jimmy...and that someone else would work better for Betty. ^_^

Well yah,,,Betty is the "should be", but should be's aren't what people usually will choose ^_^ at least I don't think Jimmy would...u know i like JC totally, oh well yah everyody hv their fav pairings...personally i think J/B is kinda weird...dunno...it's seems like so unreal to be. It's too much perfection (which doesn't really exist). Anyway that's my opinion and any can think different from me ^_^

That's true also.

If you, or I in this case, look at it from an ambitious perspective, Betty is an example of how Cindy should treat Jimmy.

On the other hand, J/B can be alittle too perfect for some. Not that it's bad but it makes Jimmy look a little too safe. Without Cindy next to him he wouldn't need to take the risks into adventures if he stayed with Betty, with her smotching him and all.

Sometimes it's Cindy's shortcomings, flaws, and aggresion that really makes J/C a unique couple. Without barriers to keep Jimmy safe, such as Betty telling him You're a good person, You can do it Jimmy, etc, Jimmy wouldn't have any other reason to snap at Cindy and get him moving.

If you get my point.

Socially speaking, Betty is up on a pedestal, whereas Jimmy...

Well, I really don't want to say he's a loser, because I'd sound like Cindy, for one...

Okay, back to my psychoanalysis...
Cindy is truly a sweet girl; she just puts out a tough exterior because her home life isn't really as perfect as she knows it could be.
Believe me, if they made stamps big enough (or small enough, as Cindy would say), she'd stamp the word "MINE!" all over Jimmy.
She truly loves him, and she shows it in the original movie, when Jimmy's locked up, and she says,
"These kids are scared, Jimmy. They need you...and, I do, too..."
See?

So after my completely ridiculous analysis, my final answer is............

Betty could have him, but Cindy needs him. Betty realizes that, so that's why in Vanishing Act, Betty says, "He's all yours." and just walks out.
