The Burning Question of All JN Fandom-Is J/C becoming overrated?

J/C's been overrated. Since forever. 8( Seriously.

It is getting a bit old...but it is a JN staple, so I still like it...and it's only the multitude of bad J/C fanfics that's ruined the ship. That's why I try to keep away from mushy gooy J/C, and just put it in little tidbits. ^_^

I also voted Llama...just cause of who I am. ^_^

No, I don't consider it overrated.

It's just a shame that there are so many horrible fics out there ruining everything about the ship, and the show.

But unfortunately that happens with all fandoms.

I'm not so JC-dedicated and die-hard that I'd vote No! J/C 4EVER! Mostly because I'm a multi-shipper and can see both Jimmy and Cindy with other people, but I agree with Pig and Beks that it's the bad fics that make it overrated. Some fics are just sooo horrible.

I agree with Mary and Pig. It's the sucky, horrible, OOC fics that made J/C overrated! I'd wish they stop taking J/C so out of context. :mad:

I'm a J/C shipper and I'm not ashamed of saying that. I see a chemestry in them far more than hormones and all those other things that's obvious.

I love JC, and I don't care who knows it, lol. But I definitely agree with Beks. People have written some really crappy fics about it, and those make me roll my eyes. I just am not a huge fan of sappiness. Stranded was too much for me, too. Also, the way people writing those fics twist the side characters to push JC even more - like making Betty a b*tch, and Nick some sort of abusive boyfriend, etc...that's REALLY annoying.

I just don't read JN fanfics anymore unless they're written by/recommended by someone from IDOJ.

But yeah, I do love JC. It's a classic love/hate relationship, and those are always my favorite. It adds a lot of fun humor to the show, too, in my opinion.

I absolutely adore J/C as long as it's done well - none of this OTT mushiness.

If they make it a little bit a lot, like one simple comment for instance, then it's just right.

I wanted to vote llama, then chickened out at the last minute.

The J/C ship is most likely overrated, yeah. They're children after all, not some corny soap opera lovers. All the hearts and cheesey stuff may seem quite unnerving with time.

However, I don't think the JC relationship is overrated (I do love it dearly). There is a 'cuteness factor' indeed, and to me they seem very suitable for each other.

If thís pairing is getting old, then it is only because of the out-of-dimension enthusiasm about it that bugs people. It's quite common that people start to resent things that become too popular, as these don't seem 'originally' anymore. But to me, this seems more like a reaction to the popularity than to the thing itself.

It's not as if any lives depend on shippings...and always debating that matter over and over again just helps making it 'overrated'. But hey, that's what we do. xD

I think it's fun to ship J/C , plus I do it because I can actually see that work out in the 'future' and it means something to me. Whether that is overrated, I think no one else can judge but me. Same with anyone else.

But you can judge whether the attention it gets is overrated - and seein it is a children's romance it definitly is if you look rationally at it. That also includes the negative attention.

Look at S/L - they're not as much in the spotlight like J/C, honestly spoken. And there's hardly anyone who loathes it with passion. Because somehow it stays pure if you don't fuss too much about it (aka it's canon yet somehow has this originally spark).

Call me silly, but I'm convinced, if JC was just a sideship in a show it wouldn't get people worked up so much. Because then you would just focuse on making clear whether you like/don't like it without much debating.

Overrated ? The shipping definitly. So what? It's every persons right to show enthusiasm. Personally, I gotta say there are days a over-the-top sappy fanfic cheers me up. That's every person's business.

It's all the thing how people deal with it, not the relationship itself.

^_^ Just my take on it , don't be offended/annoyed or anything. Ha ha I just increased the attention with that post.
