(Emily. I apologize in advance, but you can't do that. If you are going to roleplay, you have to accept that your powers are not limitless. You can't always win. A good story has both conflict and success, but you never seem to allow for conflict. Beks and I have worked very hard on this roleplay, making it into a story, and we don't want to see our efforts messed up. Being able to always escape ruins the suspense.

In addition, it violates the rules of the NK, set down by Mara in the Joining the NK topic.

4) You may not give yourself ridiculous superpowers. As Krista so succinctly put it, "it's annoying when a person tries to make their abilities outdo someone elses-- THE MARY SUE KNIGHTS." All Neutron knights should have (roughly) equal powers. You can give yourself cool fighting abilities, but they should be hard earned, not just POOF! I'm super powerful.

The NK are not about having superpowers. Knights are every day people, with every day faults and every day limitations. We may be smarter, and some of us may have a special gift, etc, but we can't just poof ourselves out of every situation.

I am asking you politely to please respect the story Beks and I have created here. If we're in trouble, we're not actually asking to be saved, even if our characters are. We're working towards an emotional end to this storyline, and that won't work if you keep magically having the ability to solve every crisis with a flick of your wrist. We HAVE to have conflict and suspense. We have to be captured, we have to have painful things happen.

In other plotlines, I am okay with people having more fun. But Beks and I are trying to wrap up something painful right now. You can't be the hero to this story. I'm sorry. It'll all be made clear soon why that is.

*The sunlight filtering through the trees grows brighter as they walk, and suddenly they come to the edge of the forest. A quaint little village stood in the near distance, innocent smoke rising from many chimneys. An old graveyard stood apart on the right*

I think this is Spike's old hometown. I heard her talking about the awful smell that came from the Junkyard if the wind was blowing just right.

*A voice answers from the shadows of the last tree*

Voice: Yeah, it was pretty nasty at times.

*The figure moved out of the darkness to reveal itself. Standing before them, arms crossed casually, was Spike herself*

*stares, utterly amazed*

Spike!

Oh thank goodness! Oh, it looks like they didn't even lay a hand on you!

*rushes over to embrace her*

[Beks]

*Spike holds up a hand to stop Rat Lady's advance*

Spike: Don't come any closer, Rat Lady, for you own good.

Me: What are you talking about, Spike, and why aren't you tied up or anything? Didn't Eustace steal you away?

Eustace: *comes to stand next to Spike* I'm afraid to tell you that your little comrade here came to me on her own. Seems as if she's accepted her dark and evil destiny, and wishes to open the Chest. *puts an arm around Spike's shoulders* Isn't that right, my little key holder?

*tears start to form*

Writer Woman: *gasps* No. No, no, no. Not after everything we've been through...

Me: Spike...no...no this isn't right. You must be...you can't be...can't be serious. Something else is going on. Something else has to be going on!

Spike: Rat Lady, I've chosen my destiny. I knew it would not be what Writer Woman and you would agree with. I first tried to run away, but I did not get far before I could feel fate wrap itself around me. Don't you see? This is who I am. There is no fighting it.

Me: *tears fall* But...Spike...

Spike: *gives hard stare* This HAS to be the way.

Eustace: *grinning* You see? What a logical little soul we have here, eh, ladies? Now hand over the Chest.

Writer Woman: *about to hand it over, then suddenly bursts into action* Rat Lady, now!

*Takes a dive at Eustace, punching and kicking*

*suddenly thrown to the ground by Spike and held there*

Spike: *taking the Chest from a shocked Writer Woman* Go. Get away from here. This is my destiny. MINE!

*she shoves both of us backwards, and moves back to Eustace's side*


*Writer Woman and I cling to one another, neither of us certain what to do next*

[Beks]

*despite myself, a single tear streaks down my face*

Me: As you wish, Spike. You are my dear friend and comrade, so I trust your judgment.

Rat Lady: Are you crazy, Writer Woman? We can't just let her go! This is the end of the worldas we're talking about!

Me: No, she's right. This is the way it has to be.

*holds Rat Lady's shoulder reassuringly and starts to back away into the forest. But before we take a dozen steps, a wall of henchment block their path*

Eustace: *speaks to Spike* As much as I too trust your judgement, my dear, I can't just let these two women go. They can be the witnesses to this glorious event.

Spike: *gives the Chest to Eustace* Very well. It would be good to have them see this.

*sobs*

Oh gods, please, there has to be something we can do! We can't let this happen! I won't let this happen!

*SCREAMS and launches self at the henchmen, beating through them*

You can't do this to her! No! She isn't evil! SHE'S MY FRIEND!!!!!!!

*Writer Woman walks over and lays a hand on my shoulder*

Writer Woman: Rat Lady, please. We can't win this. Spike has a destiny to fulfill.

Me: Oh no, not you, too! There is no such thing as destiny! You have a choice, Spike! We all have a choice!

Spike: *gives a pained smile* Rat Lady. I already told you. I made my choice. Please, if you ever cared for me...let me do this.

[Beks]

Me: Trust me, Rat Lady, this is killing me too, but part of being a good hero and friend is being able to let go.

Rat Lady: *sobs* But...this isn't just Spike we're losing. The world's gonna end too!

Me: We'll be fine, Rat Lady.

Eustace: *yawns* As amusing as this soap opera is, we should really get a move on, shall we?

*We are tied up again and led across the clearing and towards the graveyard. Rat Lady sniffles quietly beside me and I suddenly wish I had my hands back so I could hug her*

Ratty...just in case I can't figure out a way to stop this before...well...Just know that I love you, sweetie. You're being a very good girl. Stay hidden. And whatever happens...stay with me.

I'm back, as Atomic Anna, from several months of superpower upgrading training! I've discovered that I can bring back others from the grave and restore them to their young selves again from between ages 0 to 18! I also know the exact locations of the Great One and his friends' graves by using an advanced form of telekinesis to locate their deteriorated DNA signatures! Luckily for us, they are located just 1 mile from our location! *uses advanced telekinesis* Concentrate...concentrate... AHA!!! *hands glow as I bring them out of the ground and back to us, then restoring them to their 11/12-year-old selves, and finally awakens them* Jimmy and friends, welcome to Neutronia, A.D. 2800!! I think they need some explaining, my friends! Care to help them out??

(Is all that okay, guys?? I was just "DYIN'" to include them SOMEHOW!!!! If I'm breaking the rules here, I understand, but I won't be happy about it if ya kick me out! (Sorry, Em, the kids are not in this RP. You have plenty of other RPs going that have the kids, so just you'll have to just let us have this one without them. You can participate, of course, but don't bring the gang into it, because that's really not how our story is going.)
