*holds her head* What I don't understand, is why Eustace's man didn't just kill me right away. Knocking me out and hauling me off someplace seems like a lot of unnecessary work. Unless...unless... *shakes her head* I--I can't think straight anymore. Isaac, let's get out of here before we're trapped.

*shoves Isaac to the ground and dives to avoid a series of blasts from a laser gun*

*pulls out gun and Longsword*

Violence! *fires at one figure, misses, rushes him, slashing at his stomach with the sword*

No, way! I'm not leaving a fellow-knight behind! *ducks behind a boulder and starts firing at the figures*

We can't stay here and fight this time, Isaac! Come back to the jet; we'll get involved in a REAL battle once we've done some more research and come up with a strategy back at base!

Everyone gotten enough rest to check out this chest? I'm afraid of what Eustace is up to; we can't waste a lot of time. After our encounter with his friendly minions last night I'm sure he knows what we're up to. And you know he'll be after this chest in a heartbeat.

Spike, I'm so glad to see that you're making it back alright. We were really worried!

And hey, don't feel down about what happened. You could not have helped it. Trust me, I know from experience that feeling guilty about being bested by the enemy only brings down your spirit and gets you NO closer to defeating him. You did really well, girl, and I salute you for bravely carrying on, especially with that injury.

And Isaac...thanks so much for going back for her. No one else would have been able to make it there so quickly.

Perhaps we had better just examine it first, and then keep it somewhere safe where Eustace can't find it. We do not know what evils lie within the Chest, or how they will react to being freed. Would we control them? Should we control them?

I do not know about you, but I would not trust myself with that sort of power. *shudders*

Let's examine the outside of the Chest first, at least, to see if we can get any clues as to what is inside.

Alright, here's everything I could dig up about Calamitous, evil curses, and the legend of the Chest itself. I think Writer Woman has some more files around here somewhere, but I am not sure where she keeps her private collection.

Sorry I'm late! I slept like a rock after I pulled that stunt yesterday.

Spike, I've too been thinking about the reason behind the thug that kidnapped you. It would have been easier just to take you out while you weren't looking, but for some reason, he seemed to want to keep you alive. I think the overlord wants you for some purpose.

I must research this.

In the meantime, here you guys. *takes out journal from trenchcoat and puts it carefully in Rat Lady's hand* Now, I'm letting you use my precious journal cause it holds translation of hundreds of different ancient languages, but be careful with it. That's my identiy you're holding there.
