@Beks: Ha, that sounds much easier! I'll try that next time.

I bet the creaters make up half the stuff, too.

Lol, the writers DEFINITELY make up most of that stuff. Well, not "make up" so much as "string together creatively". I usually understand everything Jimmy says, and get extra laughs at how absurdly non-scientific it actually is.

Like in "Jimmy Goes to College", the quarks Jimmy recites at first are actually all true names for quarks, then afterwards he starts getting into the made up ones.

Truefac. ^_^

I've been writing: [Science jargon] inside my inverted commas. I keep telling myself I'll go back and research something to put in there. But it seems like so much work, and I'm already so busy....

Like the very very naughty quark

And yeah, that's one of like ten things max where I could tell real science from made up space-filler crap.

In Normal Boy, Jimmy tells Sheen that he'll "reverse the polarity of the electron counter valences in the helmet and become smart all over again." If he isn't smart anymore, how the heck does he expect to know how to reverse the polarity of the electron counter valences? Also, the whole concept of the brain drain/gain helmet isn't scientifically possible.

I'm sure in my episode watching, I'll find other things that Jimmy says that are just made up science.

That's a good point Mary, how the heck would he know how to do that?

They put in fake science to make the show funny and entertaining, the writers.

And it does make the show more funny.

I bet the writers needed to but Seymour time so he could mess with the backpack, so they had Jimmy name random non=existent quarks in the background. The very very naughty one just sticks in my head the most, though, because it gives me much lulz.

I always wondered that too when I watched it. I was like "Um how can he do that, he's stupid?"

But it was probably to make it funny.

^_^ Well you can't expect them, to put in all-serious science/or to explain things scientifically that don't even exist (e.g. the oxygen gum) BUt gee, those really are funny!
