So, here's what we cooked up. If you haven't already heard, twisted-vision, Khalid, and I are planning on making a JN manga. click here for more details~

But first thing's first...we need a plotline! That's where you come in. The manga will be based on whichever fanfic wins this contest!

RULES:

1) The fanfic must be longer than a one-shot (i.e. have enough material for a manga) but must be reasonably simple. No epic TOSOT-sized fanfics please. ;) You can enter a fanfic you've already written...you don't necessarily have to write a brand new one.

2) It must include the 5 main characters...any other characters from the show that you want to add in are fine too.

3) Keep in mind that each successive part of the manga will be set in a different time period. Don't worry about writing this into your fanfic, but keep the allusions/technology from being too "dated".

4) Standard bounds of decency apply. Romance is allowed, but the kids are around their current ages in the manga, so make their interactions reflect that. Violence can be greater than that on the show, however.

5) Haaaaaaaave fun with it!

I'd honestly love to enter this contest, but I'm afraid I'm a little confused as to how the plotline will work for multiple times. :huh: I'm REALLY lost. I know you're planning to adapt the story, but how are you going to have one whole plot fit three different times in succession (since the gang apparently doesn't know they're traveling through time... that they're supposed to be apart of the time instead of passing through).

Basically the whole time travel thing is our way of experimenting with different outfits/hairstyles/"looks" for the character.

Hmm, let me see if I can clarify. Let me give you an example using the episode "Jimmy for President".

Part 1: (set in Ancient Egypt, for example) The village is seeking a child to be in a leadership position at the Temple of Amun. The kids announce their intentions of winning and each come up with a plan.

Part 2: (set in the roaring 20's) The kids go around looking for support for their campaign (no longer at a temple, this time at school - same idea though). Cindy and Libby bribe the townsfolk for their vote, Sheen blackmails Carl to get his vote, and Jimmy employs dancing girls from one of the local speakeasies to attract attention.

Part 3: (set in the future) The head of the educational instution on a planetary outpost holds the final election - then disqualifies the participants based on satellite footage showing them engaging in illegal campaign practices.

Does this make sense? It's kind of a weird sci-fi-ish concept, but w/e. Alternatively, I suppose you COULD make it a time travel fanfic, but you wouldn't know ahead of time what settings we're going to choose.

Oh, okay, I get it now. Sorry... I'm just a little slow LOL. So basically one series of events takes place after another in three separate time periods? I see! Finally. *Dur*

But alas, I can't write anything 'cause my writing detail is SO BAD! :'( :'( :'( :'( Well maybe not BAD.

Don't be so down on yourself! Enter something...it doesn't have to be epic or even that well-written, just give us something fun and easy to draw ^_^

OK then. At least I'll get some decent practice.

One question: Do we have to pick the time setting from what we choose from the poll? (Ex: I choose: Inca, Future, & Feudal Era Japan settings) Or can anybody pick whatever setting they want?

The setting should be nonspecific. That is, we should be able to take the plot and modify so that it works in any of those settings.
