OK, this might be long, so bear with me:

Stranded. A lot of people like this episode. Maybe it’s because of the rich J/C moments. Or maybe it’s because of Sheen funny jokes. Those are my reasons, but I also like it for another reason…

It has an awful lot of hints about Cindy’s mother.

Hint 1: “My mother’s going to murder me when she hears I ditched school.” Why? She might get grounded, but I don’t think she would do anything like “murder” her daughter IF she were normal.

Hint 2: Several of you guys who remember the steamy sunset scene word-for-word will remember this quote:

“That’s the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me.”

THAT’S A BIG HINT! Didn’t her parents offer her a home, food, drink, etc? Is there something we don’t know? We can only guess…

(This also shows you that she does love Jimmy.)

Hint 3: Remember that she wanted to stay on the island? She was even crying about it. Why? As much as she might have loved Jimmy, I don’t think that was the full reason.

Any ideas on this?

Hmmmm I don't think thats the reason for her wanting to stay. My mom would "murder" (not really an expression) if I ditched school. And she was probably referring to like what boys have done for her, I'd say she didn't mean it like that.

This is my opinion so DON'T KILL ME

That may be true, but her mother doesn't sound like a typical one.

I have my own theories about Cindy's mom. . . Well, I agree with most of the things you say here, it sounds plausible. I believe that number 3 was the most convincing in my mind, she didn't want to go home. She didn't mind that she was never going to see her parents ever again. . . well, if you want to hear my opinion, which you probably don't, you can read The Pearl, I talk about Cindy's mom in some of the early chapters.

One: "My mom will murder me when she finds out I ditched school!"

It's just an expression, imo. I don't think her mom will go bananasandwich and actually murder her. XDD My mom would "murder" me, too.

Two: “That’s the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me.”

Well of COURSE her parents provided her food, shelter, clothes, etc. Otherwise she'd look half-starved, have ripped up clothes, and she'd smell really really bad. I think her mom cares about her, but mother Vortex may be too busy or even sometimes just a tad self-absorbed at times.

Three: Now THAT hint is very possible. I think part of it may have been that she was trying to hide her feelings for Jimmy so long, in which when they became stranded she was finally glad to get to her destination point in their relationship. Another reason could be her home life, yes.

Like Amanda: My opinion, DON'T MURDER ME.

LOL, Krista. "SAYWHATNOW?" XD

*one:
Yeahh, my mom would consider killing me too. It's just an expression.

*two:
Well, most American kids expect to get those things from their mothers and/or fathers. I mean, my mom is awesome, but if my crush went through one hundred something oysters for me, I'd call that the nicest thing anyone's ever done for me too.

*three:
I think she didn't want to go because she could finally didn't have to act mean towards Jimmy. I don't think her mom's a bad person guys. I really don't.

Neither do I. Why would she come to see Hamlet with Cindy in it if she didn't care? She seemed so supportive, too! xDD "I bet it's my CYNTHIA! She could play all the parts!"

But maybe she wants Cindy to be perfect (which would partly explain Cindy's love/hate thing with Jimmy, since he's smarter than her). Maybe Cindy was tired of constantly being pressured.

Idk, I think Cindy's mom is like always trying to take the best out of Cindy and is always putting pressure on Cindy (did I said that correct??) so might seem like an uncaring (is that correct? is that a word? or how do you say?...well u understand me...) but I do think that Sasha would do everything to make Cindy be the best at everything...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too.

But remember Best in Show, when Cindy seemed to be doing the same thing to Humphrey?

I agree with Cindy_Auora. I mean, are ANY parents on the show "normal?"
