Jimmy shrugged in approval and shuffled over towards a shelf of books, pulling out a stack and running his index finger over the binds at titles. Looking back towards Cindy with curious eyes, he asked, "Well, which book do you want to start with?"

"Uh, Jimbo, did it ever occur to you that this might be... well, y'know, not some kind of disease? If I could make a suggestion, maybe we should go out and talk to people and see what they know."
Surprising words to come from the genius's ditzy dad, but they'd been said.
"'Cuz, I mean... you haven't heard of this happening before, have you, son? So wha' would books have to say 'bout it?"
Even he could put two and two together--and perhaps he was the only one who felt pushed for a speedy solution, even if only subconciously, because he was probably the only one out of all five of them that'd actually experienced the blackout firsthand. Perhaps this side of him'd be seen more often if he wasn't as oblivious to dangers as he usually was.
A timid smile followed his questions as he put the spectacles back on before some object of considerable shininess drew his attention away. He might've outdone himself in the mental capacity department, but he was still... well, himself.
((Return of the huge posts! Nyarnyarnyar. *eyetwitch*))

"What about it?" he asked, walking towards his bookcase and picking up the green book. "Wait... this is a book about unknown, and possibly mythical diseases," he said, swirling around towards everyone.

When the group clustered around one green-covered book, Hugh couldn't help but focus his attention on them. Blinking and lifting his brows curiously, he ceased his mindless poking of the glittering surface of some large, temptingly chrome gadget that was located in a corner and made his way over to them, halting behind Jimmy and peering over the boy's head and into the book he held with little difficulty, considering his advantage in height.
Well, maybe books did have something in 'em about this stuff worth reading after all!
Two fingers took to the rims of his glasses as he adjusted them, squinting at the pages as they flipped. "Whuzzit say, son?"

((I know. But we can't let this RP go to waste. We haven't even got to anything good yet!))

Sheen, after looking at Jimmy's inventions and accidently turning a small blue box into cheese, whips around with a sheepish smile. He noticed everyone is looking at a book Jimmy held in his hands, and did indeed not see the pushing of the big, shiny red button.
Waltzing over to in front of Jimmy, Sheen swiped the book and looked at the pages.
"Whoa-ho. Look at these pictures! It's got like a man with half a face and half a brain," he described the picture and read the caption underneath it. "'Figure A3: cerebrus furvus. An epidemic first recorded by the ancient Romans said to cause amnesia--" His eyes lit up. "Cerebrus furvus. I like the sound of that. STAND BACK! FOR I AM CEREBRUS FURVUS. BEHOLD MY HALF A FACE AND TREMBLE!!"
((For those of you who are like where in the heck does Gwen get "cerebrus furvus," it means black brain in latin))

Jimmy, glaring at Sheen for swiping the book from his fingers and making random remarks, quickly plucked it back out of the Mexican boy's hands. "I think I'll take that, thank you," he said, scanning the pages and flipping them every couple seconds. "Well, at least Sheen had the prior picture idea of the story down..." Jimmy paused to roll his eyes with a smile and continued, "It says for this disease, that the short term memory and long term memory are temporarily seperated for unknown causes." Jimmy frowned at the last two words.
"It causes the recipient to lose memory of their whole life for a short amount of time, and while gaining that memory back, the brain loses the period of time in which they were without their life experiences." Coming towards the end of that chapter, Jimmy sighed and shut the book, the information stored forever within the confinement of his brain.

"I wonder what's made it an epi... demic," he finished strangely, eyes widening for seemingly no reason. His expression was momentarily one of horror, and then it became blank.
There was a strange pause from him.
"Woah, man, is it disco-y in here!" he suddenly exclaimed out of the blue, delight in his eyes. Soon his gaze alighted on the kids again, and he blinked in confusion.
"...Who're you?"
Epidemic indeed.
