Hey everybody! This is a fic I started a WHILE ago and still haven't finished. I will not be posting chapters very often and you will usually find that my chapters are FEROCIOUSLY short... -_- . If I have a writing fault, that's it! I just recovered missing material I wrote in it before my computer broke a while back ( :PCpwn: ) and I am fairly happy with it. I hope you like it too! :D


...it was the best day of their lives, stopped short by circumstance. In the end, all that there was left to prove that it had actually happened, that they weren't just dreaming, was a tiny pearl. Insignificant to the world, but to them, it would be a symbol of love and hope forever after.

"Captain!" called the sea drenched sailor. "We've been searching for weeks and we are no closer to finding it than the minute we stepped onto the Thunder." "Silence. We shall scour these waters as long as it takes to find it." said the captain in his calm, nonchalant tone. The captain stood as still and abrupt as a statue even on the swaying Thunder in the Pacific waves.
"Captain?" asked the sailor. "Yes, David?" "Um...you never did make it clear." "Bout what, lad?" "What we're looking for. I have asked every member of the crew on the Thunder and no one seems to know but you." said David. "What we're looking for, lad, is to remain in my personal confidence until I see fit in disclosing that information." said the captain. "Alright, then, captain." said David, looking disappointed at his failure.
The Thunder and it's crew cruised into the distance peacefully. Leaving only waves and ripples though the beautiful, crystal blue water of the Pacific to remember them.

What the captain was unaware of was how very close he was to his treasure. It, at that very moment, lay in the hands of a boy on an island that never existed. That the Thunder happened to be very near to at the time.

The boy grinned broadly as he held his discovery in his bruised hands. It sparkled and shined in the morning sun. He rubbed his sore fingers and he approached the tall tree that held his home. He climbed into his handmade elevator and rode up to his tree house. He hid his treasure away from the world in his tree house on the island that never existed. He thought of the only other on the tiny island. A girl, gathering fruit at the time. The boy looked out his window and smiled at the girl. She waved at him and he waved back, but not without turning red in the face. She giggled at his embarrassment and, for the first time, he let her.

"See ya later, Cindy!" called Libby as Cindy trudged down the dirty bus steps. "Bye!" Cindy replied as the bus squealed to a start and drove away leaving nothing but it's exhaust fumes. Well maybe not nothing.
Jimmy Neutron walked across the rocky asphalt to his home across the street. She heard his front door open and his mother say, "Hi sweetie. How was school?" The classic parent. She knew she would never hear from her mother. Or her father, considering his work hours.
She opened the door and was only greeted by her empty, silent living room. Sophisticated, not homey, not inviting. The living room was a lot like her mother. Sophisticated, not homey or inviting. Not the typical mother like you'd see on television.
She walked heavily up the pink-carpeted stairs. An hour to finish my homework, first on the list for her evening. She strode into her frilly, pink room that she secretly hated. She wasn't exactly a "frilly, pink" kind of person. She only decided that she'd rather avoid fight with her mom.
She sat at her desk and opened her desk drawer to find a pencil to do her homework, but she pulled a little too hard this time.
The drawer fell out of her desk on landed on the sickly pink carpet. She picked up the miscellaneous things from her desk's drawer until she came upon something she had forgotten about long ago. Something that she thought had been part of a dream. But there it sat. Perfectly.

"Wow." Cindy's head buzzed with questions. Where was it all this time? Hidden in my drawer? I thought it was just a dream! I can't believe it!
She picked it up and grasped it firmly yet steadily, like you'd hold a baby bird. Hard enough not to let it fly away, but not enough to hurt it. She treated the pearl with great care. She wanted to hide it. So she could keep it safe from everyone. She could preserve it's magic. That even her mother couldn't take from her.
Just then the IM box on her computer sang a hip-hop song...the latest she was sure if it was who she suspected.
Yup. xHipHopGrlx.
She sat down at her desk after hastily burying her new found treasure under her pillow.

Cindy swiveled the chair and sat on her bed. She sat in a moment of silence before reaching under her pillow to hold her treasure.
If she only knew.
