HOW DO YOU EQUATE KATARA'S DEATH THREAT WITH LOVE??? SHE WAS PROTECTING AANG.

It's way too late in the game for Zutara. I mean, two full seasons of Kataang development + Katara's utter loathing of Prince Zuko would go completely out the window. It would be nothing more than contrived fanservice.
And if it happened, I would hate Katara's character for the rest of the series and would never be able to watch Avatar again without wanting to kill her the whole time.

So let's hope it doesn't happen. Because I really like Avatar.

~*Mara*~ = ^.^ =

Years later, this point still stands. God, I hate shipping wars in ATLA fandom. You would think it would go away as it's been years since the show ended, but nah, the wars are still in full swing even to this day, and the mental gymnastics Z/Ks shippers do to this day, gawd! It's especially bad in Twitter/Tumblr.

It's Bryan/Mike's fault for baiting this. They must correct this mistake on the adult movie coming out in 2026, and we'll be at peace (JK that will never happen but atleast do something to shut these b*tches up)

Honestly, I'm convinced this ship is just mostly fueled by aesthetics, nothing more. That's why I turn my hyperfixiation to LOK everytime I get into Avatar, it's just more peaceful there honestly.

I don't ship Zutara, but to be honest, I was never big on Kataang either. I dunno... I just really liked their friendship, so I never cared much for the idea of them being a couple...

I was always and will always be a Zutara shipper lol. Not like...during the events of most of canon. But I always liked the idea of them getting together later, as adults, when there was more space between Zuko's harmful actions and they'd been friends a good while. Or in AUs, obviously, where that history doesn't necessarily exist.

Honestly, I'm okay with these types, you know shippers who are just passionate and mind their own business rather than creating essays assassinating Aang or Katara's characters online just to uplift their ship

In general, I'm okay with people shipping ships I don't, just please don't be weird about other ships please HAHA

Yeah I was never particularly interested in Kataang, though I do appreciate it (and Aang as a character) a lot more as an adult than I did as a kid/teenager. I mostly liked Zutara because I thought Zuko was a more interesting character, honestly, and tbh the firebender and waterbender falling in love aesthetic has always been something I like.

This sounds pathetic but its the fandom that ruined Z/K for me. Tho it's not that far of a fetch for me to dislike it since I really don't get the hype other than aesthetic reasons. I always see Katara as the sister Zuko wanted from Azula, never felt they we're any romantic (especially after all the trauma he gave her, earlier on) but of course feel free to ship them, nothing wrong about that. I just hate the part of Z/K fandom who would dedicate thousands of discussions blabbing non-sense and non-canon events on why K/A is a bad ship. You can be passionate about it without deflecting canon events that happened for the right reason as objective truth.

Now to be fair, I'm not super obsessed with K/A ship (I'm all about the Beifongs when it comes to Avatar-verse) but I found it easy to embrace since they had a pretty good foundation for a relationship. I always liked that they stand for and defend each other when they have to.

Zuko's character as whole, I started to veer away with too because of how overbearing most of his fandom is (yes, fandom affect my enjoyment on things, I'm not ashamed about being irratated) He had a beautiful development, I can agree with that but I don't see it as more "beautiful" than how the others was developed. It may be called simple (linear), but I also like how Aang was developed from being a kid who's afraid to take responsibility to an Avatar who's unafraid to do things according to what his culture taught him.

I definitely know the feeling of fandoms ruining things, especially the shippers, lol. Attack on Titan and My Hero Academia's fandoms are two of the biggest examples for me, of shows I love, but that have fandoms I despise, as they can't handle anyone having a different interpretation than theirs... to the point of even insulting the writers for not taking the story in a direction that matched their headcanon...
