Well they are at it again. In NY state it is now a misdemeanor to own a machete for the purpose of unlawful use against another person... nice and ambiguous so that the courts can decide on a whim if you are guilty.

That law feels redundant, as unlawful would mean against existing laws. It's already illegal to cut people up. They shouldn't need to also state that you can't cut people up with machetes.

Its the worst kind of law because there is no black or white its all grey. You can't ask yourself "did he commit murder or not." No this law requires you to ask questions like, "Was he up to no good or not?" And you know factors like the person's appearance, race, gender, etc. can/will influence that.
