cindy's my favorite charecter but it seems like a lot of people hate her i think she can be very sweet and caring she just needs to let it out like me she hides her feeling and u never know she could hav a hard life at home and the onley way for her to show emotion is to take it out on other people i know its not right but not a lot of people can show emotion especialy when u love some one and u think they don't love u back

Honestly, I think she has an okay family life. It looks to me like her mom supports her 100 %, and her Dad cares enough to show up for the Father's Day rehearsal thing. Not to mention in the episode "Trading Faces"... did you SEE that rack of clothes she had? Her parents must've cared enough to buy her all of that!

I'm iffy on Cindy. I only remotely like her when she's nice. I hate it when she picks on Jimmy, Sheen, and Carl. Poor guys. =[

Yea, she IS afraid to show emotion. She may be tough but at the same time she's weak. Besides, I'm the only one who hates her. A lot of people really like her.

I liked her in the movie and if the relationship would stay like that, heck yes I'd support it but it just got shoved down our throats too much. And even if she is there, doesn't mean I have to like her....

I think how she's a jerk to Jimmy and co but secretly really cares about them (cough cough Jimmy...) gives her character and personality a lot of depth. And depth is good. It makes her seem more real and believable.

And you gotta keep in mind that she's only in grade 5; she doesn't know how to properly and maturely deal with her feelings, especially the new and extremely forgein ones (like how she likes Jimmy). She's SUPPOSED to hate him, so when she starts to like him, she has NO idea what's going on, so picks on him a lot. But in the 3rd season she pretty much understands how she likes him, and teases him to flirt with him. Come on, think about it, when you were in elementary school, boys and girls picked on each other because they liked each other and wanted their attention, and couldn't think of any other way to get it!

One reason why I love this show, and Cindy, and all the other characters (not to mention J/C) so much is that there's character development, which is absent way too much in media and literature these days. It is so refreshing to see a kids show with so much depth, thought and character put into it! But my point is... Cindy can be mean yeah, but I love her because she feels real to me, as well as the other characters. And don't even get me STARTED on J/C! *dies*

That is my opinion... Sorry for rambling a bit...

Lily Knotwise: Very good points! I admire the thought and time you put into that statement. ^_^ *Adds you to the "Respected IDOJer's List" * <-- You certainly deserve it. :P

There are particular things that bug me, though... like the betrayel of Cindy joining up with Eustace. I know she was only trying to get Jimmy's attention, but her need for that seemed to cloud her thoughts, because she-

- Actually hurt Jimmy (mentally and physically)
-And it seemed there, for just a moment, that she was going to go through with it for real (betraying EVERYONE). That is, until Eustace pushed her from her chair.

I do wish to see what your views on this are, though, Lily Knotwise. :)

Oh, I'm so flattered I've made a list already! And a positive one too! Haha. Well, in regards to your opinions...

I agree about how mean it was of her to betray them, but I still stand by her. When Eustace first started talking to her and asking her to join him, she shot him down no problem. Even when he complimented her on how talented she was, she still didn't give in. But then he said it would make Jimmy jealous, and since Cindy likes Jimmy so much, her judgement definitely got clouded... I mean... When I'm around the guy I like... WOW, I'm stupid. Hahaha. And a lot of people are like that, even more so when you're only 11. And to support her reasonings for her irrational decision, Eustace DID point out how it would make Jimmy jealous, and like I said before, Cindy REALLY wants to be noticed by Jimmy. So badly, she'll do almost anything. And she definitely didn't want him (or anyone else) to get hurt, because she made sure with Eustace that it wouldn't happen. Cindy would usually be smart enough to see he's tricking her and lying, but she's in waaaay deep with liking Jimmy. So yeah, you're definitely right about how she goes a little far sometimes... But she's still young and doesn't know how to handle things properly. But even though that's true, I like it, because it supports her character, and gives her more developement and experience, which is quite essential in my mind. It gives a lot of realisim to "nobody's perfect."

Oh, and about how it looked like she WAS going to betray them, I don't think she would have gone much farther. It was all an act to get Jimmy's attention (a stupid one, but it worked). If Eustace hadn't pushed her out then, I think one of two things would happen; either Eustace would go a step farther and Cindy would FINALLY come to her senses, or without him even going a step further, she would have been like "what the heck am I doing?" She didn't have a chance to think of what she'd really done before she got pushed out of Eustaces ship. The best of us make stupid mistakes, and Cindy is a good example. I'm pretty confident that she NEVER did it to hurt anyone though.

So, Krista, that's my short yet long opinion on that particular situation. Thanks for taking the time to read my ramble, haha. :D If you have any thoughts or arguements, I love to hear them. I love a good discussion. ^_^

Oh, and Snowleo, thank you again! I definitely will. :D

Wow Lily, I definitely enjoyed that particularly mind-stimulating post. :P

I can get an idea of where you're coming from, and yeah, everyone makes mistakes. Absolutely. ^_^ The only thing I don't get is why she would drop Jimmy. In real life (I KNOW this is a cartoon, but... O_o) he would've probably-

A. Seriously gotten internal damage
B. Broken lord-knows-how-many-bones.
C. Or...he might've even died if he was weak enough.

But since she's in fifth grade, I guess that judgement just kind of slipped way again."

Sorry about the long post, when I start talking about something, it's hard for me to stop... Hehe... :P

But yeah, you're right, in real life, that wouldn't be very nice, and if it were realistic, I would argue that she was a little distracted to realize what she was doing. But even though the characters are really deep and realistic, the technicalities of the show DEFINITELY are not, haha. I mean, Sheen is always getting hurt in ways that would no question kill you. Like in Lady Sings The News, he keeps getting hit over the head with hard, metal objects, and is perfectly fine... Or at least as fine as Sheen can get. :D And I could go on with MANY examples of how people should be getting hurt, but aren't. Plus, there's the fact that a lot of the scientific aspects of the show are grossly inaccurate and are sometimes just a bunch of techno babble... For example, breathing in space and sound in space. And about time travel... Even if time travel was possible (which it arguably is), you would NOT be able to touch your past/future-self without the universe imploding on itself or something like that, haha. Which would be really cool........ SORRY, I'm rambling again... What was I talking about? Right. Cindy... Anyway, the point is, not a lot is scientifically accurate in this show... Try and think of it as an alternate universe where everyone is almost invinsible. So when Cindy dropped him, it wasn't even a possibility that he'd get hurt.

Wow, that was a lot of talking on my part to explain that... Seriously, kudos to those of you who are still reading and still care. Hahaha. ^_^ Man, I can never shut up........... Seriously people, just say the word! *zippers mouth shut*

LOL. I know. I was just saying if in real life. :) And since it is technically a cartoon, I can't really blame the whole thing. Just the thought of Jimmy's arm cracking in half makes me kind of want to vomit, though... O_o

Poor, mistreated Jimmy! I might have to write some sort of fanfiction with an alternate ending to that one scene. Sounds challenging. ^_^

And I guess that's kind of how the Sheen fans think when they imagine Sheen with a cracked skull. Sheen fans: "ALRIGHTY, WHO DID THAT?! Rawr!"
