I multiship (J/C and J/A a little) but I didn't want to vote the multiship one, just because its so...non-descript and simple. So, I picked J/C, because I'm mostly that one. :D

I picked Jimmy/Cindy. I am a very hardcore canon person. In my opinion, the writers of Jimmy Neutron clearly wanted all of the real romantic conflict to be between Jimmy and Cindy. Other girls were only placed in to stir up that conflict.

This isn't to say people shouldn't ship other options. But for me, personally, I always have to side with the writers. The writers are the "truth". Aka canon. It's where I always land. (The only times I object to canon are the times it gets switched up on me, after I've stopped following the show/story/whatever. If a show had a canon pairing waiting to happen, and then switched that pairing after I had stopped watching it, I would still stick to the first pairing of the show, because that is what I would have grown attached to and become expectant of occurring.)



For the heck of it, I'll do personality discussions anyway, even though like I said, my real reason is just that JC is canon. You can think me as a mindless drone for that if you wish, but my dedication to canon is out of respect for what the writers intended. Being a writer myself, I find it important to take the writer's opinion into consideration. *shrugs* I enjoy going along for the ride the writers wish to lead me down.



Okay discussion time.


I think Cindy is the only character who can keep up with Jimmy. She's the only one there intelligent enough for him. Their mutual hatred for one another has actually formed a bond of friendship between them. I don't think either of them would operate well without the other, anymore, because the other presents the CHALLENGE in their life that they both desperately need. They're over-achievers, and need someone around to try to beat.

Whether they end up together romantically or not, they clearly are very attached and are friends, even if they would never admit to it. So I see that as the most interesting relationship, even if you take away romantic tones.


Jimmy and Betty are a nice idea. But I think Jimmy would get bored of Betty, because she would never give him a challenge. Right now, Betty is a challenge. An attractive challenge. But if Jimmy actually got her...that would fade. (This is not the same challenge seen in JC...Jimmy's and Cindy's challenge with one another is not to win the other's heart. Their challenges are multiple in number, and can be anything from outsmarting the other in a debate, to getting the most praise from Ms. Fowl in class, to convincing the other that they are right. So their challenge with each other would continue after they hypothetically became an "item".)

The other issue I see with JB is that Betty would never be as interested in Jimmy's work as he would hope she would be. She is nice, and seems to be decently intelligent, but the show never demonstrates her to have any real interest in science. Jimmy never would get to talk in depth about his projects, and Betty would probably end up feeling rather dumb a lot of the time for not understanding. They'd get frustrated, I think.


Jimmy and April isn't really that feasible, either. I sort of see April as the kind of girl who would want to be more adventurous. To go off and do her own thing. She's too much of an independent spirit, I feel, for her to really "click" with Jimmy. They wouldn't be together that often, and April would never form a dependency with Jimmy. And when two people aren't mutually dependent on one another, things don't work out. She'd get really bored of Jimmy ALWAYS being in his lab. And Jimmy would get frustrated that she didn't care about what mattered to him...and likely get frustrated that she would take off randomly and leave him behind for periods of time.


So, those are my thoughts. Agree or disagree as you wish.

I chose the multi-ship option.

Although I do mainly ship JC, I am still a hard-core JS fan and will fight to the death for that pairing. It CAN happen, and it WILL. Eventually...lol

I also enjoy lots of other pairings involving Jimmy. So to just select JC wouldn't be entirely true, because of my dedication to JS, and my want for a switch up every now and then.

Plus JC is going to win anyway. Fight the power! :rock:

Is there a main reason why you love the idea of J/S or Slash?

It being hot is probably the main reason.

Although all joking aside, slash isn't just for hawtness or guilty pleasure reading. Sometimes, although not in JN so far, there can be some really amazing slash stories that focus on the romance of it. Because people can have real romance whether it's with someone of the same gender or not.

I like JS as my main slash couple because they're already best friends. How awesome is the best friends falling in love? JS puts a slight twist to that.

Other slash fics, mainly because I enjoy reading how different authors interpret that couple and how they support it and make is seem realistic and in-character.

I'm into the old Fashion Boy/girl paring. I like..No love the idea of best friends falling in love.But if they are a boy and girl.

I have nothing against gay pairings, I Just don't see it happening for Jn. Maybe if there was romantic proof or something like that...

But all in all I respect your opinion. Yes Slash pairing can be cute but in my opinion I can only see it happening in a show if the Guy or Girl charecter is actually Homosextual.

For example in the show 'South of nowhere' There is a lesbian couple and I support their Relation ship.
