Okay, so I know this is a long shot, but dang it, Imma try to get some RPing in:

 

Since I figure that most people on this site are no longer really into JN anymore, I thought: "Huh, maybe if we could all roleplay as Original Characters, I might have a shot at having more than just me and Emily..." 

 

So, is anybody interested? I have an idea for a plot that could be interesting and possibly my own character(s) to play as. If we all put our best foot forward, maybe something could come out of this?

Basically, a group of terrorists lead by a cult leader are on a mission to unleash a virus that'll wipeout the human population. My character(s) is/are sent out to stop it, but find themselves overpowered quickly. That's when they decide to round up some help from outsiders (you guys).

 

Not the most detailed, I grant you. But it is the skeleton of the story. Anyone can add whatever randomness they'd like, though: it doesn't even have to necessarily follow my original premise if we get caught up in whatever we're up to...

I have a few true OCs that are a little developed, but not much past the bare minimum for any of them... Never thought about how they'd act in various scenarios... I'm just not sure how to build up custom characters; it's much easier for me when characters are already well established and are part of a fandom... Maybe this topic could help me in that area...?? *shrug*

Don't worry, Emily. I'm the same way...usually, but then in 2020 I had a RUSH of inspiration and wham: out came some character ideas!

 

I know you're excellent at roleplaying with characters that you already know, so maybe if you used some pre-existing characters as inspiration? Or maybe if you made a post explaining some of their traits, we could help you with figuring out what they may say/do in reaction to something? Sarah might have some tips of her own as well (TBH she's probably better at this than I am).

I always flesh out characters as I'm playing or writing as them, they tend to start out as a shallow idea or honestly sometimes even just a name. Backgrounds tend to come about as I go.
So yeah I always find character building in the RP or story itself to be easiest. I know some people can come up with a detailed character outside of a story but that doesn't tend to be how mine work. My characters are like children, I have a hand in shaping them but they go off to do their own thing a lot lol.

Sounds interesting! No promises how frequently I'll be able to answer since my life is kinda chaos with two kids and Holidays coming up plus some other family stuff, but I'm open to trying.
