So it is almost Xmas so I thought this might be a fitting topic. What do guys think about this ep? Personally, I have mixed feelings about it. Like it wasn't terrible but there were things about it that bothered me. The fact that Jimmy doesn't believe in Santa Claus and Cindy, Libby, and Sheen being mean to him about hurting Carl's feelings. I also don't understand why Cindy and Libby got coal at the end. Another thing is that it was insinuated in Phantom of Retroville that Santa real isn't real in the JN universe when Sheen realizes that his dad and Santa's signature are the same, so that was kinda confusing. It's been a while since I actually watched this ep (I just watched a YouTube vid discussing it) so maybe I should rewatch it? Idk...

That makes sense. I guess I forgot parts of it. It's been a while since I watched the ep. What do you think of the bit about whether Santa is real or not in the JN universe and how it was contradicted in another ep?

Haha, yeah that's a good explanation. Kinda seems like Sheen's dad doesn't really believe Santa exists since he tried tricking him.

As I've said previously I despise it
Not every show needs a Christmas special!

And the bigger problem with this episode - THERE ARE ALREADY PRESENTS BEFORE SANTA/JIMMY COME ALONG! In Jimmy Neutron's house there are already presents under his tree in the earlier scene when he asks Hugh about Santa Claus. CINDY AND LIBBY GOT THE CAMERA BECAUSE THEY WERE OPENING THEIR PRESENTS EARLY! Can somebody please explain what role Santa plays if people already have presents? Are his gifts just like, a bonus or something?
Ha I know I'm taking this episode too seriously but this is like the worst plot-hole this series has ever had

Nice topic choice, girl! Yeah, they were trying to get back at him, but it was only Cindy and Libby who were trying to do that, and Sheen wasn't a part of that.
In the midst of the girls trying to sabotage Jimmy, it was also while he was trying to save Christmas with Carl and Sheen's help, so for interfering with those heroic efforts, Cindy and Libby both got lumps of coal while Jimmy, Carl, and Sheen got nice presents.

Frankly, I think the girls deserved it; they were trying to sabotage him while he was trying to save the day, after all!
My Take:
I think she means that Sheen was initially mad at Jimmy for upsetting Carl, saying "Jimmy, what is your problem" after Carl runs out of the room and bringing it up later. As for Cindy and Libby I thought the lumps of coal were a bit harsh since Jimmy was not doing anything heroic at the time they sabotaged him (he was only trying to prove Santa's nonexistence). They were trying to punish him for being such a jerk at the school's Christmas party but - ended up themselves getting punished because Carl forgave Jimmy? The message definitely comes across as muddled. The girls aren't particularly good friends with Carl so that's where it doesn't make sense - I think Cindy prob just wanted another excuse to humiliate Jimmy, but (as she points out at the end) Libby's the one who suggested it, so idk...

Not sure about that second one, but I just had a theory about those extra presents they had... I betcha it was the parents who got those initial ones before Santa brought the others...

Really the main reason why Jimmy got an extra gift is because he is the main character and it’s nice if he’s happy at the end of his Christmas Special - this episode just always struck me as unusually mean-spirited which is why it’s funny that it’s the Christmas special.
EDIT - Not to sound picky or anything, I totally get what you were saying, I just happened to notice you used the word “blackmail” incorrectly - it refers to forcing someone to do something or else you will do something bad to them - Cindy and Libby never did this, they just filmed his accident to turn people against him (which is different). No hard feelings, sorry but that’s just my inner language nerd
