So many anime ships, but this has to be my favorite. Usui and Misaki from Kaichou wa Maid Sama?

Hey, he's made it clear in the past that he can't spell for shit. This should be no surprise for anyone.

 

I can see how talking with the actor in real life makes it seem less fictional, and I've never done that, so maybe that makes more sense than with others. He'll never stop feeling fictional to me since I'm already so hopelessly in love with the chracter.

 

I disagree that Lindsay doesn't seem like a character anymore. Of course her own personality and opinions shine through the reviews, but her interactions with the other producers (both on her own show and in crossovers/cameos) are far from normal or realistic. She still plays the Chick character well. Not the the same level as Doug does with Critic, but its still there.

 

Maybe it seems that way because her reviews are more analytical than humorous. She makes jokes, too, but its not a majority of the review the way the NC ones are.

 

Or maybe I just watch all of the way more often and too much so I notice these things more.

LOL, you can ship something just because of "why the hell not"? Yeah, I could never do that. When I love a character or pairing I take it to HEART!

 

Yeah, I have a sliding scale of shipping; it goes from "huh, yeah, I kinda ship them" to "OMG MY BABIES MY BABIES GET MARRIED I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!1!" The ones in the latter category are the ones that reach OTP status.

This one's hard for me. I can see it both romantically and platonically, but either way, they are BEST BUDS FOREVER. They belong together, in some fashion or another.

Yeah, I guess I get that and even do it myself a little. I'd say I'm the latter with a majority of my ships, but there are some here and there that I'll just go, "Eh, I like 'em on a good day."

 

The unicorns thing, for example, is not a OTP of mine. Everything else I've posted so far is.

I don't know what it is exactly about it I love so much, but I do. It's just really, really well done. And also self-aware, so it pokes fun at itself at points which I always find amazing in shows. But it doesn't do it so much that you end up removed from the show. It was one of those few things in the universe that actually got me yelling "OHMYGOD JUST KISS HIM ALREADY!" at my computer screen.

Technically, anime means any animation whatsoever, it doesn't have to be from Japan for it to be anime. For example, the cartoons in present day U.S./Can/Mex/etc... are referred as anime.

In Japan, yes, anime does translate to "animation" (it was originally borrowed from the English word anyway). However, we here in the West have borrowed it back, and we use it to distinguish between Japanese/Korean/Asian cartoons and those made in America/Canada/Europe/etc.

 

Describing American-made animation as anime may be 'correct' in Japan, but here it just leads to confusion (and is thus counter-productive). Ah, the wonders of language borrowing and regional meanings...

I know, right? Usui and Misaki are just...amazing to watch. I love how hard Misaki tries. We knew she was doomed from the start, but she puts up a good fight against it all.

 

And Spike and Rarity are just flippin' adorable. I didn't think I'd ever ship anything in MLP, but I ship them sooooo much it's almost obsessive.

 

As for Teen Titans...Robin and Starfire...I SHIP IT. Beast Boy and Raven...I...SORT OF SHIP IT. I don't see that one as much as other ships. I mean, I SEE it, but I don't see it, if that makes any sense. I think because it wasn't featured as much in the show, it's not as big of a deal to me, or as real to me. I can easily just see them as friends rather than love interests, though I'm not against the idea of them being interested in each other.
