Does it bother you when other people don't like/hate things you like?

Do any of you have examples of things you love that other people don't?
C'mon, don't leave me in the dust! I've been feeling like a thread killer lately.

Does it change your view of it when other people hate it or do you see it the same way? Sorry, I don't know if that made sense...
Like does it make me like it less when other people talk about why they hate it? I don't think so. Usually it just strenghtens my opinion of it because it makes me think of all the reasons why I love it.

Someone the other day made fun of people who like Glee, and I got so mad.... GRR! Seriously.
I don't call you stupid because you hunt or watch sports, neither of which I love!

I like the way you think!
It only really bothers me when the people who don't like what you like make you sound like an idiot for liking it.. does that make sense?

Yeah, I get what you mean. Personal insults based on opinions, not cool.

Yes it does, and that makes me upset........... but like Emily said, people constantly bashing things I like is really upsetting. ![]()

Yeah, I don't particularly care for horror movies, but my sister does. I tease her about it occasionally, but it's all in good fun. Some people like being scared. It's just a difference in taste! I'm sure even you and I have differences in the things we enjoy/ dislike. (There are very few things I hate with gusto I just feel ambivalent toward them).
You know, I would say that it's good we all don't like the same things or the world would be a very boring place!

Lately several people have asked me if I watch the show You on Netflix. I sat through the first season and was seriously irritated with the main character the whole time. It was incredibly cheesy IMO.

I honestly don't care if someone hates something that I love or loves something that I hate. Everyone has their own opinions and I respect them. The only time it would really anger me is if they kept constantly talking about why they hate/love it so much. If I hate something, I say it once and then that's it. I don't keep talking about why I hate it. On Facebook, I have people on there who do that, they constantly talk about how much they hate or love something and it's annoying. I am friends with people who have differing opinions than me because I don't let difference of opinion ruin a friendship. Like for instance, Emily said she despises horror movies because they terrify her. I, on the other hand, love horror movies. They are my favorite movie genre and everyone in my family are all horror freaks. That's our main choice of movie whenever we watch one. However, just because she hates them doesn't mean I'm not going to be her friend. People can like whatever they want. It won't bother me.

I agree. I have a close friend who likes a lot of shows that I don't like but I don't tell her how terrible I think they are. She knows I'm not a fan of those shows, and we just talk about stuff that we both like. I think it used to bother me more when I was younger that people would bash things I like, but now I am just accepting that we all have different tastes. I like horror movies too (not torture ones though) but I can definitely see why they wouldn't be some people's cup of tea.

I don't care honestly but it only bothers me when they're becoming too much (especially on hating it). Like I don't need to see multiple posts on my feed about why my favorite show sucks and spreading false information about it (this is a Twitter disease, sadly)
