FYI, a jukebox musical is a musical based around songs that were written for something else.
About a month ago, I had this complicated idea for a jukebox musical based around the music of Lady Gaga (as well as some of the music she wrote before she became famous). It would be about the transformation of Stefani Germanotta into Lady Gaga, and while it would be partially based in reality, it would primarily be stylized, and surreal. The names are based in reality, but the characterizations and events are based in her songs. It's a rather dark take that intentionally misinterprets a few songs to force fans to reexamine them (and to mess with their heads).
Today I finished my first draft of the script! TBH I wasn't putting in my best writing skills, I was really just trying to get the whole thing out on paper to basically demonstrate how it would go.

Interesting idea, but can this work with other artists, not a GaGa fan myself.

Well, I really wrote the story around her songs. You might find it interesting regardless, as my portrayal of the Gaga persona as a villain is sure to be one unpopular with the Lady Gaga fandom in general. I'll admit that the appeal is narrow, as it basically only really works if you simultaneously a)enjoy Lady Gaga's music and b)are creeped out by it. I suppose you could call it a deconstruction of Lady Gaga that uses her own material in the deconstruction.
