Well, sometime around Christmas I hope to update my JN fanfic. I hope that will be acceptable.

My point exactly. *SIGH*

They are ALL JXC Love-Fests, and, IF (BIIIG IF) they're not, then they're either PWP (8SHUDDERS*), AU (those are OK, IF, and ONLY IF, they're done RIGHT), and//or, no-storyline, puppy-love stories (did I already say that?).

NO ONE is tryong to do a LOOONG JN Fic, with an ACTUAL storyline! There are ONLY, like, a TOTAL of FOUR JN Fics over 100,000 words!, ...And, ONLY THREE of those are ANY GOOD (TOSOT being one)! I am hoping to revive that old "TOSOST Feeling" in the JN FanFic Section, with my on-going story, "Genius: The Next Generation," and, while I've gotten PLENTY of reviews, and PLENTY pf people have responded POSITIVELY to it, I don't know if it'll do the trick. I mean, yes, it's going to be LOOOONG, with a VERY COMPLICATED, and/or, TWISTED PLOT, when it's finished, but, still, without OTHER AUTHORS following suit, it won't be enough.

That section, on FF.NET, needs an "overhaul." :PCpwn:

Well, writing those kinds of really long, intricate fics takes
a ) dedication,
b ) inspiration and
c ) talent.

Not everyone has all three. Especially in the JN fanbase, which sadly is quite small compared to others - although extremely awesome and dedicated, of course. :D It's a pity... :( I agree that we need more high-quality fics, but there's only so much we can do at once.

Mine is not part of the sappy JC lovefest

It's an SL story. There are so few with them as the main couple.

Only I haven't introduced any of the boys yet OTL

I don't have my chapter outline with me, but I think I have this chapter, then one more before the guys finally get some face time.

Okay, so I wasn't specific enough... It's the only one I have on FF.net that has more than one chapter, Kate. ;)

But please don't link us to any M rated stuff. K-T only, please.

Crap. Well, that cancels out my two favorites. I guess I didn't realize how screwed up some of the stuff I read a thousand times truly is.

What? Sometimes I like heavy, dramatic stuff. I swear to you that it works it context! It really does! Its just hard to explain if you're not actually a fan or reading it.

I should say they're my favorites after TOSOT and all TOSOT-related oneshots and drabbles, of course. They'll probably always be at the top.

There certain ones that I cannot read because of the horrible mental images they give me, but its not very common. The internet has greatly desensitized me. :D

@Em & Athena: I've read M-rated stuff before that's good, and some that's horrible

Like any fic, it's a matter of how well it's written more than anything.

Have I told you before of how one I read once ended? It ended with Jimmy, beaten and bloody, crawling up a hill towards civilization, then he pauses to see a mother bear and her cub reunited, then continues with his slow, depressing trek... They didn't write anymore after that, saying that that was the end of his fic. It was back in the nick.com days... <_< Talk about a pathetic ending! :grr:

Em, that's kind of rude. People should be able to read M-rated stuff without being judged unless it's bad twilight fanfiction, in which case, judge away ;)

I'm not especially into M-rated stuff myself, mostly because I prefer extreme sexual tension to outright shagging  I also like things to be *mostly* in character, and if going horizontal on the kitchen table isn't by any stretch of the imagination a plausible situation for the characters in question, well...I'll pass.
I also don't mind major suffering and bloodshed as long as there's a good payoff, but "misery fics" don't really appeal to me. There's enough depressing endings in real life, thank you very much.

What? The nick.com moderators allowed that? They used to delete my chapters if I even mentioned the word "blood"...

Lulz. Oh, Mara. So many wonderful things in such a short post.

But yes, I only take fanfiction seriously if the characters are acting at least semi in character as well. If its pure crack, I can accept that and enjoy the cracky fun. But for serious fics (which both of these are), their actions have to at least make sense in the context of what's going on and with their personalities. I don't just read crazy monkey sex for the hell of it.

Maybe I shouldn't have said they were M-rated. I don't know for sure. The first one says its rated "R", which I assume is the equivalent of rated "M." And the second one doesn't have a rating, but I assume if it did it would be "M" given its graphic adult themes.

Yeah, it's true, sadly... I was literally THIS close to breaking down into tears when I read that! :( I know he's just a fictional character, but still, poor Jimmy... -_-
