Since there's a Why We Ship for Jimmy/Cindy, I've decided to do one for Jimmy/Betty.

Here's my reason for shipping JxB: it's a breath of fresh air from the usual "bully-girl-who-loves-smart-boy" cliche. Also, Betty treat Jimmy as a HUMAN BEING, not as a target for pranks and beatings. Plus, Betty in the fandom has been portrayed unfairly by the more extreme Jimmy/Cindy shippers, same goes with Nick, April, or even OC's.

Anyone else?

Yes, but didn't like it. Too mushy, mostly fanservice for J/Cers

Yanno, the older I grow the more I like the J/B ship. It works, it's cute, it's not a cliche, it's your typical 10-year-old 'crush' type of thing. :)

Alex, what a surprise! And yes, I understand it! :)

Their relationship (J/C) is too unstable for me, that is.
;)

I guess I'm 50%/50% right now.

I support JimmyxBetty cuz of how sweet Betty is to Jimmy. He likes her and she doesn't push him down the stairs for it or hit him, you get it right?

Yeah, that's my goal. Time to give J/C a break from the spotlight.

If JC wasn't my ship, I wouldn't mind JB. Of course they're both cliches, the Takahashi Couple and the outcast looking for love with the popular girl.

But I'm confused, why all the talk of physical abuse here? Last I remeber of Cindy hitting Jimmy was slapping him after the dream kiss. And that wasn't that bad considering how other tsunderes act towards their respective love interest. The arguing was pretty bad, but nothing earth shattering. Jimmy doesn't seem to mind it. And at least they mellow out at the end.

Betty could've been a good foil for Cindy and the relationship between her and Jimmy (the contrast between sweet and innocent JB or the heated sparks of JC) so it's sad the writers didn't follow up on it. Betty did give Jimmy up though, in Vanishing Act. So she couldn't have been that interested. That's just my 2 cents.

She also smacked Jimmy in Crime Sheen Investigation, but that was also a deserved hit.

The reason for the theory about physical abuse is because there could be concern one day that the relationship would go south once they're older.

Cindy is a classic tsundere, more tsun than dere. Which means that she does have a sweet side, but she ends up using more of her angry side. Doesn't mean the sweet isn't there. Jimmy is a Jerk with a Heart of Gold. Put those together, and they end up going at it. If they were adults, then yeah it'd be extremely unhealthy, but as kids I've seen it before. Hell most of my childhood crushes were like this. We argued like hell and beat each other up, but we both liked eachother, but didn't know how to say it. We all grow out of it. Though I am still pretty mean to the guys I like, but I've learned that we're too old for that.

think about it, you fight with your sibling and beat the crap out of them right? Doesn't mean you love em any less. My sister bruised me, and I her, but now we get along great. It's just a kid thing.

It's a classic Takahashi couple, and most times when/if they show the 2 get together, they reminisce about how they used to fight like that.

I take it you're not a fan of the tsundere??

Right, its more of a Jekyll-and-Hyde thing. Also, not a fan of love/hate relationships either. Even if Cindy does grow out of that stage, because she's 11, she could end up reverting back to being a hostile and overall nasty person.

True, but we can't forget that Jimmy isn't exactly a saint either? Who's to say who is the catalyst for the two fighting? Besides I take the final episodes in the series to show that without the fake confrontations and fighting, they can be quite civil. Plus we can't use what ifs and maybes about their futures when they're only 11. For all we know, they married apart. But I love the love/hate thing. Its kind of how I like my guys. Honestly the ones who go gaga and are wayyy too nice aren't my types. I like em with fire and can stand his ground if we argue. I guess it depends if you like them submissive or not.

That's my main gripe with the final eps, they're nothing but J/C lovefests. I just don't like J/C, or mean girls like Cindy, because they're plain unlikeable.

Here's what a friend of mine has to say about Cindy, please note that the views and opinions do nor reflect those of IDOJ or its management:

"Cindy Vortex (“The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron”) - Wow. Where to begin with this one? Take Helga Pataki, increase her IQ somewhat and strip away the noble yet futile effort at explaining (justifying?) her unpleasant behavior and this is what you get. That she goes around threatening and insulting people (I ask you, where were Craig Bartlett’s lawyers?!) and rubbing her intelligence in people’s faces is insufferable enough, but the main target of this nonsense is the main character Jimmy…whom she supposedly loves (and don’t even get me started on that oh-so-annoying nervous laughter she does whenever someone calls her on her feelings for him). And, of course, people support the two of them getting together…including the show’s writers. Seriously, am I taking crazy pills?"

Sounds like you're jumping off a cliff into the sea of conclusions. Their futures, both Jimmy AND Cindy's, are unknown cuz they were stupid enough to cancel the series. We don't really know for SURE what the future holds for any of the characters, really, even Betty. Just cuz she gradually turns out kinda sweet to him doesn't necessarily mean she'll become violent in her future, but that's just my opinion on Cindy. I mean, I've grown out of some of the stuff I used to do as a kid, and my personality has matured. The same can be said about anyone, real or fictional. Just my 2 cents there...
