Having asked Ophelia to fetch a metal pipe for him to use as a staff, Ling rose awkwardly, scowling at the pulsing pain in his leg. "So what now, captain?" He questioned, in a somewhat mocking tone, though still trying to control his overflowing temper that rose from his own inability to actually do anything.

Once alongside him, she turned to her new partner. "We go?"

"Wait!" she called out after the receding backs of two survivors. "Shouldn't we stick together. Isn't 'Never split up' horror movie rule number one?"
She paused for a moment to wait for an answer and then shook her head.
"Nah, never mind. We'll be alright. I hope."

"Ling and Ophelia can take care of themselves, but this one obviously needs being looked after. She hasn't stopped shaking since I've met her. I should be grateful at least. If she hadn't shown up, screaming her head off, I wouldn't have distracted those zombies long enough to get a clear shot at their heads."

Hobbling around on one leg, Ling looked around the main room of the empty warehouse. "How are we even going to get supplies in this place? I still say we first find something that I can hit things with, preferably a gun, but maybe something sharp would work too," he said, not completely trusting Ophelia to protect him by herself. Ling motioned to Ophelia to come with him to the next room.
"I wonder what is this place a warehouse of, though..." mused Ling, "It's quite well barricaded, maybe part of the military, or at least a place of somewhat importance."

She stopped as the two approached a door to an unknown room. The door creaked open with an ominous groan. Flakes of rust cascaded down from the top of the door offering up the evidence that the last time it had been opened was many years previous. As the two waited on the threshold Ophelia steeled herself and turned towards Ling. Wanting to prove herself to Ling, she declared, "I'll go in first," and stepped into the room.

She instinctively disliked the abrasive Ling...although in his defense, he probably couldn't help being unpleasant, seeing as he was of Chinese descent. Miharu had always distrusted Chinese people - there were just so MANY of them, breeding and breeding and breeding under the unclosing eye of their corrupt and oppressive government. She wondered briefly how this kaijin epidemic might look in China; after all, if there were that many of them here, imagine how many there must be there. She shuddered at the thought, grateful that Yoshi's business trip hadn't take them to China instead.
As for Ophelia, well...she talked fast, and was difficult to understand. Miharu felt her cheeks redden in embarrassment. After all, she had nobody to blame but herself for her lack of proficiency in English. If she had paid more attention to the subject in college, perhaps she would be better able to communicate with her fellow survivors.
Determined to prove her communicative capabilities, she waved to Jake to get his attention. "Ano..." she hesitated, trying to remember her English verb conjugations. "Have you found anysing yeto?" she completed at last. "I want to help carry it."
Better, she thought to herself. Still can't get that th sound, but better.

"Umm..." started Ling, trying to find some words to describe his extreme confusion and surprise. He failed.

"So compared to the architecture of the rest of the building and the thinner layers of dust on the surface of the desk over hear I would say this is the most recent built room and the last to be abandoned."

"Are there any more in that box?" Jake asked his timid partner, turning the bag over in his hands. It was just a simple drawstring bag that you could carry like a backpack, but that's all they needed.
