You guys remember Hugh/Ed/Wiz, right? He was always really into roleplaying, but not necessarily JN-related, and I think we could all learn a little from his example. For some reason, IDOJ has never been very good at keeping an RP going. The whole Neutron Knights thing was the closest we got to really having an independent world and accompanying storyline and characters, and I for one miss it.
I'm not suggesting we try to bring it back (I know we're all extremely busy, and NK story updates are ABYSMALLY slow), but maybe we should consider doing some other "trial" RPs just to get the wheels turning again here on IDOJ. They can even be really short, oneshot RPs designed to test our improvisational characterization skills as authors.
For example, Jessi could start a topic that reads "this is the world of 'Umbridge', where adults range in height from 2 feet to 7 feet and you can't tell men and women apart without seeing them naked. Music is illegal in Umbridge, and the story starts with a group of underground musicians who are risking imprisonment to bring the sound to life". From there, people would jump in, introduce a character they come up with, and stay in for as long or as little a time as you like. Your RP character can merely walk in, hand the other chars a cup of coffee, and leave again...only to spontaneously reappear 5 pages later with a secret agenda nobody knew about.
I dunno, maybe this idea is too pie-in-the-sky for the A.D.D. IDOJ crowd...thoughts?

Actually, this does sound pretty cool. I've done a couple of play-by-posts before, and they were fun. I don't know if anyone else would actually participate, but I vote yes.
