So here's where you can post one-liners, monologues, and dialogues from your favorite films! Whether animated or live-action, drop-dead serious or LOL-inducing, movies always have something to offer in the quotable quotes department...at least the good ones, anyway xD


Let's be clear: this is NOT for JN quotes or quotes from TV shows. This is for movies only. If someone wants a topic like that, I'll create it. And we can include quotes from the JN movie, but let's keep that limited; this IS the Other Shows thread, after all.

Oh, and if you have an explanation as to why you like your quote(s), that'd be nice if you could post that, too


I'll start us off.


"What're you lookin' at, you hockey puck!" ~Mr. Potato Head, Toy Story And for lulz, here's the "hockey puck" he was talking to:


Why I like this: Not only is it completely random and absolutely hilarious in the film (the puck spreads his arms like "What did I ever do to you?"), it's also a bit of an inside joke. Don Rickles, the voice behind the moody spud known as Mr. Potato Head, is a famous insult comedian, and this is one of his more famous lines that he uses during his routines.


"You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain." ~The Dark Knight (I forget who says it )

Why I like this: It's so...DEEP.

One of my favorite quotes is from Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead.

This is so great; it shows part of the fanboy that's in Syndrome, and it also shows sheer cheek on Pixar's part. Which reminds me of something...


BUZZ: Um, ma'am, I, uh...just wanted to say that you have a beautiful yarnful of hair, I mean, hairful of yarn. *clears throat* I, uh, must go.

JESSIE: *catches Buzz and spins him around to face her* Well, aren't you the sweetest space toy I ever met!

BUZZ: *embarrassed* Heheh...

SLINKY: *talking to Buster* What's that? A-bark bark bark? *to the room in general* Hey, this fella says he needs to go out back for a little private time?

JESSIE: That critter needs help! *spies the racecar track and runs over to it* Yodel-ah-hee-hoooooooooooo! *does some spectular tricks and twists open the knob on the door, letting Buster out*

I love how that little bit with them in the end (which can probably easily be overlooked) turned into a whole subplot in the thrid movie. XDD! *sighs* Oh, that was fun...

Also from PotC, "You'd best start believing in ghost stories, Miss Turner. You're in one." I swear, that line would have been so narmy if it has been delivered by anyone else, but Captain Barbossa makes it not only work, but utterly rock.
