Chapter 1: The New Kid Arrives
It was just another typical day in Retroville, Texas. Local boy genius, Jimmy Neutron, was in yet another squabble with his smart-alecky neighbor Cindy Vortex.
"I bet not ONE of your travel inventions can even travel at the speed of sound, much less the speed of LIGHT!!" she mocked him, blowing a loud strawberry in his face.
"Oh, who asked you, anyway, Vortex?!!" Jimmy shot back, "I'll have you know that my hovercar is more than capable of breaking the sound barrier! Don't make me bring out my mutation ray!!"
Libby, who'd seen the entire argument from start to that current moment, exclaimed out of frustration, "Would ya just cut it OUT, you 2?! It does not matter how fast some of Neutron's inventions can go! Just give it a REST!!! Sheesh!!"
"Yeah!" Carl agreed, walking up to the squabbling tweens, "Stop it already! You're gonna give me a rash in an uncomfortable, unmentionable place!"
"We didn't need to know that, Carl," Jimmy informed his friend, a disgusted look on his face.
"Yeah, dude!!" Sheen added, "Ya seriously wig me OUT when ya say that kinda stuff!"
"Okay, EEEEWWW!!!!" Cindy and Libby both squealed at once, completely grossed out, backing away from Carl.
"Sorry," he apologized, "But it's true."
"Ugh...," Jimmy groaned, remembering what Cindy'd said a few minutes ago and searching his hypercube, "Where's that mutation ray of mine?? I know I left it in here somewhere..."
His search was suddenly interrupted by a moving van pulling into the driveway of the vacant house next to his, soon followed by a little blue car about the same size as the Neutron family roadster.
He looked up and commented, "Hey, I didn't know we had new neighbors!"
"Neither did I!" Cindy put in, watching a young girl about her age step out of the car with her family.
"She definitely has a BOLD fashion sense!" Libby commented, "Just look at that full head of long, hot pink hair!!"
"Wow, she's hot!" Sheen said, triggering an angry glare at him from Libby.
The new girl apparently noticed the gang staring at her, so she walked over to them and introduced herself, saying, "Hi! I'm Alexis Owensby. Nice to meet you in this lovely town called- Um, what's the name of this town? And who are you guys?"
"Oh, pardon me, Alexis!" Jimmy excused himself, "Welcome to Retroville! I'm Jimmy Neutron, and these are Cindy Vortex, Libby Folfax, Sheen Estevez, and Carl Wheezer."
"Nice to meet you!" Alexis sweetly replied.
"Hey, I know what! Let's treat her to a trip to the Candy Bar!" Cindy suggested excitedly.
Sheen just quietly laughed sneakily to himself as he muttered, "Perfect timing!" When the others weren't looking, he pulled the Vibrating Lad N-Men packet out of his back pocket and gulped it down quickly...
