I routinely draw a lot of inspiration from soundtracks more than songs. (One exception is Bridgerton the musical which inspired several drabbles in the past month or two, and there are more I can't think of at the moment).

Some of my favorite soundtracks that I often listen to when I'm writing include:

Ever After by George Fenton
Memoirs of a Geisha by John Williams, Yo-Yo Ma
Cinderella (2017) by Patrick Doyle who also wrote the music for Sense and Sensibility that I adore.
Pride and Prejudice by Dario Marianelli
North & South by Martin Phipps

Oh, I just remembered that one of my old oneshots was inspired by a song, the one I called Sheen's Christmas Gift, inspired by the song The Christmas Shoes by Newsong... A really touching one, if you ask me... ^_^

That song is not a particular favorite of mine, but I'm glad you like it! Whatever inspires you!

I recognize the title, so I think I probably did. It's been a while, though.

Yeah. It's where Sheen, as a little kid, tries to get his dying mother one last Christmas gift... ;)

I very rarely cry when I read. It's a weird quirk of mine.

It must have to be especially touching for that to happen, huh?

Mhmm :) but back on topic! Another one I thought of was Vitamin String Quartet and 2cellos. I listen to them a lot too when I'm writing. I know Dangerous Game, and In His Eyes from Jekyll and Hyde the musical have both been influential in past fics.

More directly, So Contaigously was inspired by So Contagiously by Acceptance and About A Boy and a Girl was inspired by A Boy and a Girl by Eric Whitacre. (I heard this piece like be a few years ago and almost died.)

I'm not really following the rules here 😆 The problem is so many different musical things inspire me and set the mood for whatever I'm writing. So, it's more general for me.
