Over the years I've written a buttload of JN fanfics (including Hypno-Cindy, Me Myself and Two of You, and most recently, The Other Side of Tomorrow), but for various reasons, I never got around to writing about 75% of the fics I've actually thought up. Since I'm nearing the end of The Other Side of Tomorrow, I'm thinking ahead to what I want my next fanfic to be about. Tell me if you like any of these ideas (some are a bit odd and some are really vague, I admit) or if you have a request/suggestion for a fic I should write.

Title: Meet the Parents
Genre: Humor
Description: As part of a program to promote "tolerance and acceptance of our differences" at Lindbergh Elementary, Principal Willoughby and Ms. Fowl organize a family-swapping project. The lucky participants have the opportunity to live at a classmate's house for an entire week, and then put together a presentation on what they learned. And those lucky participants just happen to be...Ms. Fowl's 5th grade class

Title: Forever in a Day
Genre: Realistic Fiction, Friendship
Description: After yet ANOTHER one of Jimmy's experiments go awry, Cindy and Libby become trapped in a perpetual time loop, forced to relive the same experiences over and over again. They must re-evaluate their relationship with their families, their friends, and most of all, with each other, if they are ever to escape from the cycle.

Title: Fear
Genre: Suspense, action
Description: Jimmy invents a machine that creates everyone's worst fears.

Title: Point of View
Genre: Experimental fiction
Description: A single day's events are recounted from the perspective of each of the five kids.

Title: The Enemy Within
Genre: Adventure, action
Description: A villain creates a device that splits the kids’ personalities, producing an anti-self of each person that is literally their own worst enemy.

Title: Message in a Bottle
Genre: Realistic Fiction
Description: Excerpts from Cindy’s journal. A chronology of her development as a character from ages 5-13 (ages approx.).

Title: Paradise Found
Genre: Mystery, Realistic Fiction, adventure
Description: The kids find an addictive, utopian planet and slowly become dependent on it.

Title: All's Fair in Love and War
Genre: Romance, Adventure
Description: In space, the kids meet two warring alien races whose leaders are in love. (This idea actually partially inspired another idea that led to my fanfic, The Other Side of Tomorrow).

Title: Someday
Genre: Romance, humor
Description: Jimmy adapts the chronoarch into a TV-like device which allows the kids to watch their future lives as a form of entertainment.

Title: North Dakota, The Loch Ness Monster, Pandora's Shoebox, and other Myths
Genre: Humor, gag "self-help"
Description: Sheen gives life advice on everything you'd ever want to know...and on several things you'd likely NEVER want to know.

Hmmm...that's all I can think of for the time being. I know there's quite a few more...but my brain isn't really functioning right now so I'm gonna stop

As fics in general, I personally can't wait to read all of them, they definitely sound interesting. :)
But I'm a bit confused on the pairings involved. I just need to know which ones might have J/C or none at all.

I'll easily read any fic based on Sheen/Libby & Carl/Elke of course, but I'm touchy when it comes to J/C fics. If by some off-chance I do read a J/C fic, it'd need to be one of those "their season 1 relationship, with only a few hints here & there" kinda thing. THAT kinda J/C fic I'm open to, jst not something like LSTN or Stranded.. ;)

All ideas sound great though, regardless of whatever pairings they are, & I say you should write each of these, regardless of what romance is involed! ^_^

I agree that Meet The Parents sounds like the best idea. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT do Fear, though. It's been done, by one of my fav fanfic authors, GaDS2000 (Gary D. Snyder).

All We Have To Fear

That's one of my favorite stories of his, too. Give it a read.

BTW, Forever In A Day sounds a lot like the movie Groundhog's Day.

Ya, I wasn't planning on writing "Fear" anyway. I figured someone, somewhere must have already written a fanfic to that effect.
Lots of people also voiced the concern that "Forever in a Day" seemed a lot like the movie "Groundhog Day". Can someone please explain to me what happens in this movie? It seems like everyone has seen it except me.

Bill Murray plays a cynical, total jerk weatherman for a local TV station. On Groundhog's day, he and a video crew are sent to do a remote in Punxsutawney, PA to cover the official Groundhog's Day festivites. Long story short, he's forced to relive Groundhog's Day in Punxsutawney over and over and over again, apparently thousands of times. He has some good days, some bad days. His continuous loop finally ends when he gets the girl (Andie McDowell). It's never said what causes the whole thing, but I guess it's implied that it's some kind of divine intervention. I highly recommend it even though I'm not really a Bill Murray fan. It's hilariously funny, very romantic and surprisingly touching and philosophical.

Fear, eh? It sounds like something that The Scarecrow (a major Batman villain) would do!

In think The Green Lantern would get involved!

Yeah, Gary Snyder is good. Real good! "It's An Alternate Life" is another real good story of his. I haven't really gotten into his current one, "The Network Strikes Back". What with it being 81,000+ words and 30 chapters and counting, I'll wait until I have a spare week to devote to reading it. :) But enough of that. Let's not hijack Mara's thread.

Mara: Doing a story along the lines of "Groundhog's Day" would be acceptable, IMO. Doing a JN fanfic that derivative of a movie is one thing. Doing a JN fanfic that's derivative of another JN fanfic is another. :) That's why I cautioned you about "Fear".

Those ideas sound fantastic! I really like the idea of Forever In a Day... just basically the concept that maybe Cindy will realize just how mean she's been to Jimmy? Or maybe not. Maybe you'll just make them relive their life to see things they hadn't seen before?

All of your ideas sound wonderful! Please get them written out soon.

Hey, I was fiddiling with some fanfic ideas myself. I have 2 I'd love to do someday:

Title: Galazra (0r) Time Dragons

Genre: Fantasy, Action

Discribtion: When a mysterious egg appears in Jimmy's lab, an adventure of "monster" proportions begins. Jimmy hatches a flegling dragon named Galazra and suddenly summer gets more exciting. He must learn the ways of the Barden Time Dragon riders and save the world from an evil king of the past.

Title: Temper Tantrum
Genre: Realistic Fiction

Discribtion: After and radiation explosion in his lab, Jimmy's N Men power returns, but he doesn't know it because he has a full body sun burn from the beach. He does relize soon, but unfortunanly, he gets too mad at Cindy and almost hurts her. He returns back to normal, and soon realizes what he almost did. He runs away, leaving a note to Cindy, saying sorry and telling her to not look for him, please! She heeds his words for a little, but when terrable things happen in town, and Jimmy is not to blame, Cindy, Libby, Carl and Sheen begin the search for Jimmy.

Tell me what you guys think!
