Well they are at it again. In NY state it is now a misdemeanor to own a machete for the purpose of unlawful use against another person... nice and ambiguous so that the courts can decide on a whim if you are guilty.

That law feels redundant, as unlawful would mean against existing laws. It's already illegal to cut people up. They shouldn't need to also state that you can't cut people up with machetes.

Its the worst kind of law because there is no black or white its all grey. You can't ask yourself "did he commit murder or not." No this law requires you to ask questions like, "Was he up to no good or not?" And you know factors like the person's appearance, race, gender, etc. can/will influence that.

My brother and I just went to the store to pick up chocolate milk dressed in festive Christmas attire. I wore a Bah Humbug elf hat and he wore a Christmas vest an absurd looking elf hat and Christmas themed sunglasses. For some reason people avoided eye contact after the initial double take.
