I love this fic and cannot wait until you write some more! Take your time, though! I completely understand how school can drag you down. Thats one of the main reasons I haven't start one yet.

Anyway, I loved the ending to the last chapter and how Jimmy seemed to have a soft spot and gave in because she called him Jimmy. So cute! ^_^

Tada! a new chapter! And just in time! I can hear the angry mob coming! And just so you know, Cindy and Libby's new look are a combination of mine and Jeh's ideas.

Chapter 5: The Transformations


“We’re back!” Cindy called as she and Libby walked through the sliding metal door into the lab. They had quickly run home to get more appropriate clothes to change into once they had ‘transformed’.

“Good,” Jimmy replied, looking up from the control panel. “I’ve just finished setting up the Metamorphosis Pod. There’s a hook in the inside of the chamber where you can hang your clothes. The Pod with change you into them automatically. That’s another cool feature I put in it.”

“Are you sure it’s safe to do that?” Cindy asked nervously.

“Of course,” Jimmy assured her. “I already use that kind of technology in the mornings before school. Just relax, and it’ll work perfectly.” He stepped back up to the control panel. “Ok, who’s first?”

Libby confidently stepped up. “I’ll go!” she said.

“Ok then, tell me what you want to look like.” Jimmy said. Libby thought for a moment, and then leaned in to whisper in Jimmy’s ear. As he typed in what she had requested, Libby opened the door into the tall, white chamber, and disappeared inside. Jimmy finished Libby’s description and held his hand over the big red button.

“Ready, Libby?” he called.

“Hit it!” came her voice from within the chamber. Jimmy obliged, slamming his hand onto the button. Immediately, loud mechanical whirlings erupted from the chamber. There were a few tense seconds as Jimmy and Cindy watched the chamber, the anticipation mounting. Then, with a miniscule ding, like that of an egg timer, the noises stopped, and the door sprang open.

Emerging from the smoke came a white, blond headed girl. She looked at them expectantly.

“So, how do I look?” she asked in Libby’s voice. They just stood in awe, speechless.

Libby’s hair was now straight, and very shiny, as if she was in a shampoo commercial. Where her hair ended at her shoulders, it was flipped outward a little, framing her face. Her facial appearance was mostly the same, and here eyes were still their dark chocolate brown.

She now had on a bright pink halter top, much like her old shirt, and a camo print skirt covered her legs to her knees. For shoes she just had plain black sandals, and they could see her toenails painted the same color as her top.

“Oh, never mind,” she said as they continued to stare at her. “I’ll look myself.” She went to twirl in front of a mirror standing against the wall.

“Ooo, Jimmy! This has my vote for your greatest invention ever! I look fine!” She turned and gave Cindy an enthusiastic grin. “Come on, girl. It’s your turn.”

Blushing, Cindy whispered into Jimmy’s waiting ear, and then hopped into the chamber. After the machine had stopped, the heard muffled yelling, followed by the chamber door bursting open with a crash.

A young girl of seemingly African American decent jumped out of the chamber, pointing an accusatory finger at Jimmy.

“Neutron! Your stupid machine gave me a major wedgie when it was putting my clothes on!” she screamed at him, pausing to adjust her pants.

“Sorry, Cindy,” Jimmy laughed, still looking at the control panel. “That happens sometimes with…” It was then that he looked up, and saw her.

Her richly dark skin gleamed in the artificial light of the lab, and her black hair was braided back into several little braids, all pulled into a multi-braided ponytail. The braids had tiny green beads incorporated into it, which matched her polo shirt. She gave one last tug at her bright yellow pants, and then put her hands on her hips.

“Well, don’t let it do that again. Now, how do I look?” She shifted her weight to one side, smirking. Jimmy just continued to stare in awe.

“Um, hello? I’m talking to you!” Cindy waved a hand in front of his face. Libby giggled.

“He means ‘You look gorgeous’. I’ve seen that look on Sheen’s face all the time.”

Jimmy shook his head to get out of his trance. “I wasn’t thinking that! Besides, we have other matters to attend to. Now, I’ve set your transformations to wear off by nightfall, when you’ll be expected home, so you don’t have to explain anything to your parents.”

He took two small devices from a table and handed one to each of them. “Here’s a communication earpiece. I can’t go with you for your projects, but just in case something happens, you can contact me with these. Any questions?”

Just then, Libby’s stomach gave an audible growl.

“Yeah, can we get something to eat?” she asked as she and Cindy put the earpieces in.

“Well, it is lunch time,” Jimmy agreed, looking at his watch. “Come on; let’s go to the Candy Bar.”

I'm sorry I didn't respond to the last chapter, Beks. :P But, hey, it meant I got to read TWO chapters this time! :dance:

Anyway, you're doing an awesome job! I loved your descriptions of Libby's and Cindy's transformations. And I'm anticipating the kids' reactions at the Candy Bar...

Heh, Snazzo's right! Cindy does still have a ponytail, and Libby has kept true to her fashion sense with her clothes, eh? I like that.

Keep up the great work! (Oh, I'm suuurrre no one's ever said THAT before! :rolleyes: Way for me to be original with the encouragement...)

I like the new chapter! :)

I think their new transformations will be interesting to see how it plays out and how they feel about it. I especially want to know Sheen/Carl's reaction if they meet them at the candy bar. I like how it seems that even though Cindy changed Jimmy still thinks she's fine. ^_^

Chapter 6: Chelsea and Linda


Jimmy and the girls walked into the Candy Bar, chatting as if the morning’s events had never taken place. They slid into a booth near the counter, Cindy sitting in the middle between Jimmy and Libby.

Sam came by their table. “What’ll it be, yeah?” he asked.

“Hey, Sam,” Jimmy replied. “We’ll have some Flurp floats all around, and I’d like an Atomic Burger.” He turned to Cindy.

“The usual, Sam,” she said, putting her hands behind her head. Sam gave her a confused look.

“The usual? I’ve never even seen you before, yeah!”

“Oh, right,” Cindy stammered. “Well, I’ll have the Cesar salad then.”

“And I’ll have the chicken wrap,” Libby added. Sam cast a suspicious look on them, but walked away. Cindy sighed.

“I keep forgetting that we don’t look the same as we usually do,” she confessed. “I mean, I still feel like myself, but to everyone else, it’s like I’m a totally different person.”

“Come on, Cindy,” Libby argued as Sam came back to give them their drinks. “It’s not that bad. Consider it like a clean slate. You could talk to anyone here, and it’d be like any past difference wasn’t there. Like…” She searched the room for a good example. “Oh, like Amy over there.” She pointed to a girl with bright red hair sharing a table with Oleander.

“Amy? But I thought you and her weren’t talking to each other ever since she made a crack at Sheen that one time,” Cindy said, puzzlement etched on her dark face. Libby gave her a mischievous smile. “Yeah, but watch this.” She slid out of the booth, and casually walked over to Amy’s table. Although Jimmy and Cindy couldn’t see Amy’s face, it seemed like they were having a short, polite conversation. Then, waving goodbye, Libby came back to the booth, grinning widely.

“Well, what did you say?” Cindy asked.

“I told her I was doing a survey,” Libby explained. “I asked her if she wasn’t on speaking terms with a friend. And when she said yes, I asked her if she regretted it, and she said yes!”

Cindy smiled. “Wow! I guess this could come handy.”

Just then, before they had time to react, Sheen and Carl came up to their booth.

“Hey Jimmy, where were you this morning, and who are these beautiful young ladies?” Sheen asked, waggling his eyebrows.

“Oh, hi guys,” Jimmy stammered, trying to act casual. “Um, these are…some new girls that just moved in. I’ve been showing them around town.” He gave the faintest of winks to the girls.

“Yeah,” Libby continued, catching on. “My name’s Li…” She hesitated for a split second, thinking quickly. “Li…Linda. Yeah, Linda.” She attempted a convincing smile. “And this is my friend…”

“Chelsea,” Cindy finished. “And you must be Sheen and Carl. Jimmy’s told us so much about you guys.”

Sheen slid into the booth next to ‘Linda’, putting an arm around her shoulders.

“I could tell you more about me if you want,” he murmured to her flirtatiously. Trying to contain a smile, ‘Linda’ gently shook off Sheen’s grasp.

“Don’t you have a girlfriend?” she asked. “Jimmy told us you did.” Sheen nodded, a twinkle in his dark eyes.

“Yeah, Libby would kill me if she knew what I was doing.”

Sam waddled over carrying a tray, and deposited the food on the table.

“I already know what you want, yeah,” He said as Sheen opened his mouth to speak. Carl started waving his hand wildly. “And you too,” Sam added. “You two order the same thing everyday, yeah.” He wrote down the order on a notepad.

“Where’s that blond girl and her friend?” he asked. “They always hang around you guys, yeah.”

“Um, well, they’re around town somewhere.” Jimmy answered as casually as he could.

“So, where are you going next?” Carl asked, sliding in beside Sheen. “Have you seen the petting zoo yet?”

“Well,” ‘Chelsea’ said. “Now me and um…Linda have to start on these articles for the class we’re gonna take next year. Mr. Laurence is really weird.”

“Yeah, I heard Cindy complaining about him,” Carl said. “Did you meet her yet? She has blond hair and a green tank-top, and she’s usually yelling at someone, usually Jimmy.” ‘Chelsea gripped her fork tighter, making her knuckles turn white.

“No, I don’t think we have,” ‘Linda replied, eyeing ‘Chelsea’ nervously.

“Well, I need to hurry,” Jimmy said. “I’m in the middle of an experiment, and my bacterial cultures should be at peak conditions in…” He glanced at his watch. “20 minutes?” Puking Pluto, I’ve gotta get to the lab!” He bolted down the rest of his burger and slid out of the booth.

“Bye, guys,” he called. “And ladies…” He paused, his voice suddenly full of concern. “Be careful.”
